"Hot in Cleveland" is a sitcom on the TVLand cable channel. One of the co-stars is veteran Betty White. A while back the producers brought back a few of her colleagues from a boomer-favorite series of the 70s. The result was very cute. Today we offer an except from that episode.

Where have we been???

You don't really want to know. But... turns out our little "remodeling" project turned into a huge remodeling project. Among other things, we "lost" one of our production computers. Oh, we had backed up our data. We did not lose a thing. But getting the replacement computer configured properly has been a nightmare. And we still do not have all our computers in sync. One of them is not yet connected to our network. So we have to switch flash drives back and forth to share data. See... you don't want to know.

Thanks to those of you who wrote to say you missed us. We missed you, too. And thanks to all of you for your patience.

Anyway, we're back... full of enthusiasm and ideas. It'll still take us a few more weeks to get everything back to normal. But we're just getting started. The best is yet to come!

A Letter to Miss Busek

Only years after I left Sussex School did I begin to realize just how special my elementary school had been for my classmates and me. I began hearing stories from friends outside of Shaker Heights. They had a much easier ride in elementary school... and they have been at a disadvantage ever since. And of course, I read what is happening in schools today. I can only imagine how I would have turned out had I had been enrolled in a public school in the 21st century. I was not a troublemaker, but Mrs. Kirsch [the principal] said I was flippant. Naturally, she was right. The solution back then was consistent discipline and strict adherence to high standards. If I had been a second-grader in 2005, I suppose there would not have been enough Ritalin on earth to deal with me. Wrong answer! Of course, you and I both know that.

Every day I use the lessons and principles I learned at Sussex School. I don't know... some of my classmates may not remember them as well as I do. It may not have been obvious at the time, but the attention to detail and high standards that all of my Sussex School teachers set made a deep and lasting impression on us. Stated simply, it worked. For that, I am forever grateful.

This week we are introducing a series we call "Juxtaposition." It's a great word, as we think a pretty good idea. We hope you get a kick out of our silliness.

The BBHQ Trivia Teaser & Subscriber Evaluation
Here are three questions from the BBHQ cloud:

Nope; we have no trivia this week. (Actually, we do... but we can't get to the software that.... oh, never mind. We'll have it ready next week.
The BBHQ Joke of the Week

This is why it is so important to check your typing:

A Minneapolis couple decided to go to Florida to thaw out during a particularly icy winter. They planned to stay at the same hotel where they spent their honeymoon 20 years earlier.

Because of hectic schedules, it was difficult to coordinate their travel schedules. So, the man left Minnesota and flew to Florida on Thursday, with his wife scheduled to fly down the following day.

When he arrived, he saw that there was a computer in his hotel room. So he decided to send a message to his wife. However, he accidentally left out one letter in her email address, and without realizing his error, clicked "send."

Meanwhile, somewhere in Houston, a widow had just returned home from her husband's funeral. He was a minister who was called home to glory following a heart attack.

The widow decided to check her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends. After reading the first message, she screamed and fainted.

The widow's son rushed into the room, found his mother on the floor, and saw the computer screen which read [emphasis in the second paragraph is ours]:

To: My Loving Wife
Subject: I've Arrived

I know you're surprised to hear from me. They have computers here now and you are allowed to send emails to your loved ones. I've just arrived and have been checked in.

I've seen that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was.

            P. S. Sure is freakin' hot down here!!!!

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
