A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

Political parties exist to secure the responsible government and to execute the will of the people. From these great tasks both of the old parties have turned aside. Instead of instruments to promote the general welfare they have become tools of corrupt interests, which use them impartially to serve their selfish purposes.

This Week with the Chicowitz

Rock On, Rod Stewart!

What is especially remarkable is that, even at age 70, he was bouncing around the stage, singing, dancing, and having a ball like a guy half his age! Early in the show, he shed his jacket and tie. Before he was done, he had gone through three costumes. His mood was infectious. Everyone had a great time. He put on a heck of a show.

Rod Stewart mirrors the spirit of the boomer generation. We can learn a lot from him. First, we have to pace ourselves. We cannot move as fast or for as long as we did 30 years ago. But we shouldn’t resign ourselves to the rocking chair in front of the boob tube. It’s OK to have fun — laugh, dance, run around the stage – or the house – doing goofy stuff. We can... and should... live life with gusto!

A Few of Our Favorite Things
One of over 200 questions in The BBHQ Pop Quiz collection:

The BBHQ Pop Quiz pops up all over BBHQ. Wander around!

Eye Remember... October 24, 1962:

The world teetered on the brink of war, as President Kennedy responded to the construction of a nuclear weapons facility in Cuba by the Soviet Union.

On October 24, President Kennedy took a "middle of the road" approach to the aggressive move by the soviets and initiated a military blockade on the island of Cuba.

Two days earlier, in an address broadcast on television, President Kennedy drew a line in the sand:

It shall be the policy of this nation to regard any nuclear missile launched from Cuba against any nation in the western hemisphere as an attack by the Soviet Union on the United States, requiring a full retaliatory response upon the Soviet Union.

The crisis ended a few days later when Khrushchev backed down.

On Halloween only... next Monday, October 31, we'll offer a plethora of Halloween features. Here's a sample:

All coming your way...
on Halloween, October 31!

A lot of people think we are only kidding with our "wish list." Not at all. We're dead serious. We want this stuff!

Well, except this:

This is a disgrace. It is an insult to your faithful pet.

But if you must, it is at Amazon, $23.99 .

But we are serious about this one... maybe:

It's the official, licensed, Star Wars Jabba The Hut Deluxe Inflatable Adult Costume!

Your own 1-size-fits-all version of Jabba includes the headpiece, body, and battery operated fan.

The costume really is enormous. When fully inflated, the costume added about a foot of girth to me on every side. The tail of the costume is also VERY long. It trails at least three feet behind you.

Amazon, $54.46 .

The BBHQ Joke of the Week
A woman whose husband often came home "three sheets to the wind" decided to cure him of the habit. One Halloween night, she put on a devil suit and hid behind a tree to intercept him on the way home. When her husband came by, she jumped out and stood before him with her red horns, long tail, and pitchfork.

"Who are you?" he asked.

"I'm the Devil!" she responded.

"Well, come on home with me," he said, "I married your sister!"

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
