Our Upper today is a wonderful version of "Homeward Bound." But no; it is not Simon & Garfunkel.

And now, a word from our sponsor:

"Does that bowling ball feel heavier than it did a few minutes ago? Quick -- bring on that 7-up!"

Lyrics You Know You Know

We are so fortunate! When we were growing up, the hit songs had lyrics — real words; words that meant things; words that did not need a warning label; words that were fun; words that tugged at our hearts; words that we could sing out loud — even if they were kinda’ goofy. It was the summer of ’67; I was in high school. No cares, no worries... and no money, either. Still, we had great music, and a transistor radio by the pool. We were in heaven!

I took off for a weekend last month
Just to try and recall the whole year
All of the faces and all of the places
Wond’rin’ where
      they all disappeared.

I didn’t ponder the question too long
I was hungry and went out for a bite.
Ran into a chum with a bottle of rum
And we wound up drinking all night.

It’s those changes in latitudes,
      changes in attitudes
Nothing remains quite the same.
With all of our running,
      and all of our cunning
If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.

Eye Remember... August 8, 1974:

Boy, do I remember August 8, 1974. "Our long national nightmare" ended.

Yeah; it was 42 years ago today.

The BBHQ Bare-Bones Boomer
Assessment Test

The BBHQ Official Baby Boomer Qualifying Exam contains some questions that might stump some boomers. So we're working on developing a series of questions that absolutely every boomer would know the answer. Here is one of them:

1. Who among the following was NOT a Beatle?

  John Lennon
  Mick Jagger
  Ringo Starr
  Paul McCartney

Simple enough, huh? What other questions should we ask that would clearly identify a boomer and yet stump the unfortunates masses? Please click reply and give us your ideas.

This is the spherical pod that creates an environment conducive for creative working, meditation, and innovation.

The walls are double insulated, plastered, and painted, resulting in a seamless 12 1/2' diameter x 8 1/4' high interior space with no visible joints. A stainless steel- framed porthole window provides a view to the outdoors and more can be added if desired. A locking gull-wing door that raises and lowers assisted by an air piston provides access to the Archipod. A built-in electric panel heater provides warmth when contemplating life's challenges during the cold, short days of winter while the roof's 6' diameter polycarbonate dome opens on a hinge to let in natural light and the invigorating scents of spring.

And no one can talk to a horse, of course.
That is, of course, unless the horse,

The BBHQ Joke of the Week

When the mother returned from the grocery store, her small son pulled out the box of animal crackers he had begged for. Then he spread the animal-shaped crackers all over the kitchen counter.

"What are you doing?" his mom asked.

"The box says you can't eat them if the seal is broken," the boy explained. "I'm looking for the seal."

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
