A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

The pen is mightier than the sword, if the sword is very small, and the pen is very sharp.

Links here are good only for the week of June 29. After that... is anybody's guess.

This is one of those things you’ll find only on the Interent. It's jazz... for cows. And yes; they do respond... thus making, of course, contented cows.

It’s 90 seconds — just silly fun, that’s all.

And now, a word from our sponsor:

We interrupt BBHQ Freedom Month to tell you a more timely story:

The Wrong Century

"Looks like I picked the wrong century to craft memorabilia."

By the beginning of 2015, Harvey was focusing all his attention on his passion, Civil War memorabilia. He had committed thousands of hours and tens of thousands of dollars to this project. Harvey projected that 2015 would be the year that his efforts in this labor of love would finally pay off. It was to be his last entrepreneurial project prior to a well-deserved retirement.

You can probably tell where this is going, can’t you?

One, isolated event has led to this dramatic sea of change. One, isolated event eviscerates a century and a half of tradition, pride, and culture.

What did the union or confederate flag have to do with anything illegal or evil? What did anything that Harvey created do to contribute to the mind of a single, deranged monster?

The more important question is, ”Why did the media and the politicians so grossly and improperly over-react to the actions of one deranged monster?”

But the critical question is, ”How did our society become so weak and so mindless as to allow us to be corrupted by such dangerous absurdity?”

I Remember... June 29, 1956

I remember June 29, 1956... kinda'. But it was on this day that transportation took one small step for mankind. It turned out to be monumental. On June 29, 1956 President Eisenhower signed the bill which authorized the construction of an interstate highway system. Where would we be without interstate highways?

By popular demand, we offer a glimpse, but only a glimpse, at the Playboy cover for June, 1956.

The BBHQ Trivia Teaser

Here are three questions from the BBHQ cloud:

1. First, our current events question:
Right off the pages of the BBHQ Shorts: at a conference at the White House last week (and teleconferenced across the country) for medical professionals, President Obama encouraged the medical community to inform patients about global warming/climate change. True or False?
True; it's part of the agenda.
False; the doctor/patient relationship is sacred.

2. From the BBHQ Name That Tune collection:

  Don't hang on,
Nothing lasts forever but the earth and sky
It slips away,
And all your money won't another minute buy

Name that tune:

3. What company promised better milk from "contented cows"?

There are no prizes here... it's just for fun.

The BBHQ Joke of the Week

This smells like a fake. But it is amusing, nonetheless.

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
