A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

When language in common use in any country becomes irregular and depraved, it is followed by their ruin and degradation.

And now, a word from our sponsor:
BBHQ

Twitter: A virtual locality with an endless assortment of disturbed, socially-deprived people. That's Twitter! It's a notorious, new mechanism that lets you maintain virtual contact with family, friends, and social rejects no matter where they are. By following or being followed, you will enjoy prevous unimaginable experiences, like sharing incredible amounts of useless videos; photographs; unfounded, baseless rumors; and false news flashes. Twitter is truly a magnificent, life-changing and perhaps even life-making tool... if you're into that stuff.

Disclosure: The banner, not ours, is "real." The text, ours, is real, also.

The BBHQ Newsletter Bonus

It's a bonus; so it is optional. If you need your own, personal "safe zone," or if you are soft and squeamish, you'd best skip this week's bonus.

This Week with the Chicowitz

The Moment

Living through the 60s, 70s... and on and on... conditioned me to expect a certain environment, a level of decency, a standard of conduct and decorum. That, and an understanding of history, have provided me with a solid, sound judgment about right and wrong as it applies to the big things in life. The events of the last 12 months have shattered my expectations.

My outrage and astonishment here is not so much at the candidates as it is the voters in the primaries who rejected mature, moral, principled, qualified candidates well worthy of our support in favor of two disgraceful losers who deserve our scorn, not our support — and certainly not the power, prestige, and perks of the highest elective office in the world.

I Remember... May 2, 1972:

It was the end of an era... the end of a 37-year reign. J. Edgar elbowed and intimidated his way through eight presidencies... and also did away with a lot of the bad guys. J. Edgar knew "where all the bodies were buried," and used this knowledge to build his impenatable empire. No president dared fire him or push him too hard.

He was the first and most powerful head of the CIA. Jedgar Hoover died on May 2, 1972.

The BBHQ Trivia Teaser

Here are three questions from the BBHQ cloud:

1. First, our current events question:
Last week at the Vatican, VP Joe Biden asked for the Pope's help on which of the following:

ending cancer as we know it
      ending world hunger
      ending world poverty
      procurring worldwide social justice
      closing Gitmo
securing a 3d term for Barack Obama

2. The lyrics are from a 1970 #1 song:

Open up the window
Let some air into this room.
I think I'm almost chokin'
From the smell of stale perfume.

What is the title of the song (6 words)

3. Last week we asked a question about Cracker Jack. They have been using the same characters on their logo for as long as I can remember. You know, Sailor Jack (get it: Sailor Jack: Cracker Jack) and his dog... ah... what is Jack's dog's name? (Don't look it up!)

Grade our Newsletter. How did we do this week?
      A: Great! Lottsa' fun.

      B: Pretty good.

      C: So-so.

      D: Eh... not so good.

      F: A swing and a miss.

The BBHQ Joke of the Week

We call this one, "Where's Mommy?"

One evening after dinner, a five-year-old boy noticed that his mother had gone out and he asked his father, "Where did mommy go?"

In answer to his question, he was told, "Mommy is at a Tupperware party."

This explanation satisfied him for only a moment. Puzzled, he asked, "What's a Tupperware party, daddy?"

The man had always given his son honest answers, so he figured a simple explanation would be the best approach. "Well, son," he said, "at a Tupperware party, a bunch of ladies sit around and sell plastic bowls to each other."

He nodded, indicating that he understood this curious pastime...

Then he burst out into laughter, and said, "Come on, Dad! What is it really?"

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday!
