BBHQ

January 5, 2015

A BBHQ Insta-Quote:

“The Coco Chanel Rule is ‘Nothing is new, it is just forgotten.’ Writer Amity Shales and I modified it a bit: Do what you can to cause the forgotten to be remembered.”

Links here are good only for the week of January 5. After that... is anybody's guess.

We start the year with a carefree, fun sing-along. Yep; you have to sing along with Mac Davis. The song is “Oh Lord, it's Hard to be Humble.”

Do you still get out the old checkbook and write checks manually every now and then? Remember, the year is 2015 -- 2014 is history!

What was the last time that you went to a movie... and people applauded at the end of it? Well, skip "The Interview," and treat yourself to "Unbroken," instead.

Be prepared to applaud at the end.

We're still a little short on content this week. It's been an exceptionally busy season here at the compound. We hope to be back up to speed by next week.

Great Quotations

I love great quotations! I have collected them since I was a kid. Short and smart:

Character is higher than intellect. - Ralph Waldo Emerson.

(That's what my mother used to call my sister: "short and smart.")

Or, short and funny:

Life is like an ice cream cone; you gotta' learn to lick it. - Charlie Brown.

(Yep; that was what they called me: short and funny.)

(Better than short and stupid, huh?)

“Every now and then you run across radiantly attractive people; and you are delighted they adore you; till you realize they adore just about everyone. And that’s what made them radiantly attractive.”

The BBHQ Joke of the Week

Dad's a "safety-first" kind of guy. But while vacationing with some buddies, he was talked into going para-sailing.

He was on the back of the boat getting hooked into the parachute when he nervously asked the captain, "How often do you replace the rope?"

The experienced captain replied. "Every time it breaks."

Have a great week. We'll share the fun again next Monday.
